{double digits}

my little, ok not so little man turned a whopping 10. make my heart ache and break.... however, every year i try to find different ways to fill their rooms with balloons. this time when he woke up they were coming down like rain drops. and since it was his birthday the little miss asked to sleep in his room. my little stud happily obliged.
this is what he saw after the balloons. inside the card i explained how he would get 10 awesome gifts to be opened throughout the day, to celebrate his special day.

i think the card alone made him quite happy.

gift one and two. a sweet portable speak for his ipod touch, and some mechanical pencils{which are a must in 4th grade, according to 4 graders}
once upstairs i had his cake all ready
and a few extra surprises from other family members.
per his request for his school treats,  donuts i had pre-ordered.

around 2:00pm , the mr and i headed to his school to surprise him with gift #3. man oh man he couldnt stop smiling.

a certificate to lowes extreme air sports with two of his best buds, who I also checked out of school for an afternoon of fun.

gifts 4, 5, and 6 his favorite gum, candy and a new reading light.

gift 7, was really from the little miss, but we counted in anyways, and someone forgot to snap a photo with gift 8, which was a atm machine, which didnt even work. maybe thats why i didnt take a photo. :)

numero 9. an airhog that he was saving up for.

last, but certainly not least.... the big 10.... no i didnt give him cheez-its, even though they are his favorite.... i put his new halo combat game inside. he almost didnt even open the box... the mr finally had to ask him to open it, my sweet guy was so humble about it he didnt even want to let on that he didnt get the one gift he asked for. oh I love this boy of mine

later some family came by to wish dv a happy birthday. my sister also decided to play a trick on poor dv...it was comical.. so when dv left all his birthday money on the counter,  she grabbed it and rolled it up with the money she was giving to him too. handed it to him and he about DIED. he started saying WOW, thats so much money, holy cow... on and on... a few moments later we all couldnt help but start to laugh, and luckily for us DAMON HAS THE
BEST SENSE OF HUMOUR AROUND!!!

my dv is growing up way to fast. his maturity level is way beyond his years, and sometimes that is good and bad. he excels at all he does. he is quite the character and enjoys playing tricks on us daily. he is such a smarty pants, but still does not enjoy his nightly reading.{unless its wimpy kid} his current obsessions include anything halo, and anything lego. he still isnt a big tv watcher, which i love, but the game is something we need to work on. he still loves to be tickled by me and loves hangin with the mr. he recently quit the swimming team, but has found a new interest in mma or jujitsu. he loves my home cooking but never passes up a chance to head to panda express. his all time favorite. and of course he is an amazing big brother and we couldnt be more proud. he is quite the defender of his sweet sister and is always there for her when she really needs him.
